1975 Safari 23 Holding Tanks Capacity ?

Does anyone know the capacity of the grey and black water holding tanks in a 1975 Safari 23? I have been searching high and low for this spec. I have the original owners assembly manual and it does not give the capacity. I even have a copy of the original brochure and it list the fresh water tank capacity but only says “enough for a long weekend getaway” with regards to the main and auxiliary holding tanks.

I know they are not that big. I had them out during my restoration. I’m just trying to decide how large of a portable tank I would need to empty both tanks at full in state parks with water and electric only.

Hopeful for some wisdom from the forum here.

In the absence of someone replying with data from a good source and my useless reply of ‘tiny gray tank’, fill it up from a 5 gallon bucket. I believe the gray is like 10 gallons.

If they used the same tanks as I have in my 76 Ambassador you would have a 10-12 gal grey tank and about a 20 gal black tank. I ran into the same issue you have, and everything I found said the same as you found. So I used a 5 gal water can and filled the both tanks until full and kept track of the number of times I dumped 5 gallons in and did the math. 4 full 5 gallon cans into the black equals 20 gallons. Then the grey took just under 2 1/2 cans until it backed up into the tub. I can't see the drain pipe for the tub holding 2 gallons of water, maybe 1/2 gal to a gallon at most
