White Drain Tube-Passenger Side

Hello,

I’m in the process of de-winterizing my 2013 International 27FB.

I winterized by draining tanks, adding antifreeze to the fresh water tank and pumping RV antifreeze through the system.

Today I filled the fresh water tank in order to flush the system. I started by running the kitchen tap and then the bathroom. I wasn’t getting much pressure here and the flow was minimal.

I opened the valves to allow the hit water tank to fill and proceeded but no change.

The pump was working non stop and I went outside to confirm that the got water tank drain was closed and tightened.

This is when I saw water draining from a white tube beneath the trailer roughly below the hot water heater.

Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it? I’d never seen this tube before.

I’m attaching a couple of photos to illustrate.

That is the low drain point for your hot water heater. There is a valve inside the vanity sink usually you have to turn to close it.

You are basically running an open system right now with that not closed.

Should look something like the pic below.

Ok. I just closed it and that resolved the issue of the low drain point.

The pump still goes full bore when I turn it on with no pressure in the bathroom sink.

Then I noticed water leaking from the plumbing connection at the back of the toilet.

I closed the valve to check it out and disconnected it.

I opened the valve on this while disconnected and was surprised by a steady flow of water despite not being connected to city water and the pump being turned off.

The pump pressures up the water heater tank and there is some air in the top to act as a pressure accumulator So you will get flow out low spots for quite some time. Probably 2 gallons or more. With a faucet open it may drain the water tank ( water will flow out the inlet of the tanks and back into the cold side).

Good to know about the extra run off for the hot water heater. After de-winterizing, I always have to let the pressure off of the heater one time to get it to heat up after the initial cycle stops.
