Water Regulator Issue...

Howdy!

I had a freeze last night and had to thaw hoses etc. Seems like I dodged a bullet!

BUT I have a Renator regulator which I put AFTER my 2 stage filter system right before entering the AS.

I try to keep it at 50psi.

When reassembling the outfit I notice that the pressure when faucets closed is 80psi and when open 45psi...

So is it reading 80psi just up to the regulator and then only letting 45psi enter the AS?

I believe the AS HAS a built in regulator so is this a non concern?

I think 80psi may be a bit high for the plumbing.... 2019 FC.

Thanks,

Trav

I put the regulator upstream of the filter to protect both the filter and the trailer plumbing. Forgot to do this once with a cheap inline filter and pressure blew the casing apart - lesson learned!

I also place my regulator before the filter.

80 psig is way too high for the Airstream but both regulators should prevent that. No answer on the other question because I am not sure of your piping layout.

Good Luck.

I looked up Renator regulator online, the model I found had the gauge on the output side. If that matches yours freezing probably damaged it.

I believe that all modern AS has regulator built inside...
