Water Pressure Regulator in '71 Safari?
I'm starting to check out and as necessary work on the fresh water systems in our '71 Safari. Does anyone know if there is a water pressure regulator in the '71 Safari? The manual says there is one in the back corner of the trailer, but I can't find it.
If a pressure regulator isn't present in the water system in the Safari is there a unit you recommend I add externally or should I add it internally?
Thanks!!

My '70 safari has one in the "trunk". It was plumbed very rough, but worked.

Thanks for the info Dan. Do you by chance have a photo of the location of the regulator? I'm hoping mine will be located in a similar location as yours.
Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have a pic, but thru the rear access door, my black tank is directly above the plywood floor to the streetside. The black tank was elevated about an inch with blocking. This allowed the city water line to pass under the tank. The regulator was right next to the tank. It is a round, brass device about 4 inches in diameter and a couple of inches high.
Please note that the previous owner had done some modification for filling and filtering. What I had may not have been original.

Thanks. I'll check that area of my Safari. I don't have the access door on the back of my Safari, but with yours as a guide I should be able to find it. Have you had to replace your regulator?
Thanks!

No access door? I'm talking about a large door above the rear bumper. This is where my batteries are.
Anyways, I reused my old one. Truthfully, I'm not sure if it works or even how to test it! I just plumbed it back inline.

Although mine is a 71 Caravel I would think yours was in the same area. Mine was in the rear behind the water heater. No access whatsoever. I rearranged the plumbing and installed a water fill on the street side and moved the regulator to this location under the side couch.

Thanks for the info. My '71 Safari doesn't have an access door above the bumper. I wish it did! I have a door on the curbside rear where my battery is stored, which also is where the univolt was located and a door near the rear street side for the water heater.
Thanks for the assist.

TWaugh,
Thanks for the photo. I'll take a look under the street side mattress and check next to the water heater. I bet it's there. It's been a while since I looked under there.
Thanks again for everyone's help!
