Water leaking

I have a 04 safari and I seem to have a leak problem where you conect the water hose for the city water inlet. I pulled the out side cover off once and tighted it up but now it seem to be leaking again( filled the rear belly pan with water and that came crashing off but that has been fixed) do I need to put new gaskets in here its not all that easy to get to.
Thanks for any advice eek

Not sure about the 2004, but on my 2006 the city water inlet has a built-in pressure regulator that will crack and leak. Just replace the whole assembly, they are available at CW for around $30.00.

eek,

Check the connection first.

... make sure there is a good gasket inside the hose fitting.

Then hold the "star" securely as you tighten it against the supply hose.

I don't know the make-up of the fittings inside, but since you mentioned that you've tightened it with at least temporary success, I gather that it is a hose connection. For what it's worth, in my experience, the hose fittings and their washers are prone to damage from the constant on-off, or from "tightening", and a resultant pooching or gathering. I've found that the application of a silicone lube, such as "Magic Lube" or a similar product sold at Leslies Pool Supply called "Pool and Spa Lubricant" does a great job of facilitating a seal, and also lubricating the gasket to prevent the gathering and pooching, allowing better tightening, thus far fewer hose connection leaks. I also use it an pipe fittings, after the teflon tape, or on any "O"-rings. I keep a tube in my AS toolbox.
