Small leak from freshwater tank

Noticed a few drops leaking from around the tank drain area access plate after driving south through Destruction Bay on the Alcan. 75% full. Put a bucket underneath overnight, only a few drops. Took off the access plate the next day, no leaks detected with a full tank. I did not see any leaks from the plumbing with the plate removed. We just completed the Stewart-Cassiar highway, and still have a few drops coming from the access plate area.

I assume there is an overflow fitting on this tank, could the leak be from that, on these rough roads? I never noticed any leaks while we were headed up the Alcan two months ago. Thanks.

I had a pretty big leak on my 1985 sovereign and removed the access panel and found a 1 1/2" plug leaking because it had shrunk in size over the years.
Tightening it up reduced the leak to a drip, but it never really got tight and sealed.
There is a thread on the subject that help me figure out what was happening.
Thanks to the previous posters. The title is fresh water tank plug and valve.

Thanks for the reply, and the link. My leak has stopped, perhaps due to smoother roads now.

Despite this, I hope you're having a great trip! Hope to make it there sooner than later.

Calcium in the water will stop all leaks eventually.

Thanks. It has been a great trip, once you understand you are not going to see everything. Classic has held up, loosening the WD has worked. We depart Prince George soon, headed east to Regina so mywife can vist an old friend. We travelled with friends in their SOB trailer. I think that was wise, as we drove down the Stewart Cassiar.

We have an appointment at Jackson Center the end of September for warranty items. I thought the tank would be on the list, but think the overflow was spitting out drops. Time will tell.
