I did with my 77 Argosy tank, and so did a friend of mine with a 75 Argosy tank. Just melt scrap pieces into the crack as you melt the crack together with the tip of the iron. If it still leaks do it again and fix it.
Ventport, thanks for the reply. I did the repair, but still have a pinhole leak. Will do it again, I have lots of scrap, I cut a 5" hole for an inspection/cleanout port.

Harbor Freight has a hot air plastic welder for cheap. It might make the job easier. I have used it to repair some door panel cracks on a old car with success.
Good Luck,
JD

I have used a small gas torch (gotta be extra careful), we also have hot air welding guns at work that I have snagged before. The ones we have are the Leister brand. I use a very small tip and plenty of fill material. I have repaired a couple of different types of tanks with success.

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going
I went back over the pinhole leak again, added more plastic. It is holding now with 1/2 tank. The leak is at the bottom at the hump to stop water movement. Will fill to the top, give it 24 hours. If still holding, back in the trailer it goes. Thanks all for the responses.
