Most recommended water pump......?


2007 25' Classic Limited. I'm the second owner and purchased it about a year ago.

I discovered that my water pump (original equipment) had apparently froze during the winter, cracking the head. I was having medical problems, so my wife did the best she could do to winterize the trailer... so far, this is the only plumbing issue we have discovered.

I would like to know what you folks recommend for replacement. Name brand, upgrade, source, etc.


My lot in life seems to be to learn the hard way and I would appreciate all the help/guidance that you can give. I hope to order a new pump today and pay for overnight delivery.

I just replaced our single speed pump with a variable speed Shurflo SMART SENSOR 4.0 PUMP for $141 plus $7 shipping from PPL Motorhomes. Seems to be the one the AS factory is installing now.

UPDATE: I want to save anyone from additional typing... I have a pump on order and should have it in 3 day.

Well I sure am glad I decided to read this thread. Wasn't aware that Airstream was now installing the Smart Sensor and was thinking about ordering one for my 2011. Just checked mine and sure enough it is the SS. Saved me a few bucks.

I was told that the upgrade that I wanted would not be available for me until around August, 28. That was too long to wait, I got frustrated, so I bought the stock pump.

To determine the extent of the plumbing issues, I needed one now.

I have several things I am trying to take care of and we would like to leave for 30 days of travel in mid August. Oh well, I can upgrade some other time.
