Low Point Drain Location

Anyone know where the low point drain valve location is for 2017 30' International. Owners Manual says there is a hole under the dinette seat cushion to gain access, but there is no hole in my dinette bench seat. I can access the water heater bypass underneath the dinette seat accessible by a removable panel, but I can't see any low point valves there. From outside and underneath the trailer, I can see where the white and red drain lines exit, but no valves are there.

Any clues?

Seems odd. On our 2017 27FB, the drains for fresh tank and water lines are between the wheels on the curbside, right where you can barely reach them. Three valves.

I have the same problem... I assume you located the valve?

Sorry--this thread is over six months old...and had no feedback, sadly.

That sometimes happens around here...

On older threads you need to quote the OP if you want to get his or her attention IMO.

FWIW our low point drains [FC20] are well-hidden by the pipes under our dinette seat near the water heater. They are hard to find, and even harder to turn on and off -- those sticky plastic valves with 90 degree on/off. There are more low point drains in out rear storage compartment also.

The new search function in the blue box above works well, and these results may point in a productive direction IMO.

MarinesPT can you see where the low point drain lines exit the belly pan? The valves should be just above +/-.

Good luck,

Peter

Ok, I have a 2017 Airstream International Signature 30RB, and am attempting to locate the two low point drain valves, associated with the white and red drain lines extending from grommets mounted in the "belly pan" beneath the trailer. The 2017 factory manual would lead you to remove the rear dinette seat cushion and reach through the hole cut in the seat bottom. However, I have read a Munnik 12-28-2017, 2017 International posting, which states that this is not the pathway to the valves.

Anyone out there, including Airstream Factory Support, who might be able to provide assistance?

Appreciation is being expressed in advance. Am in frustration overload!!

I finally found my low point drains. Unlike what the manual says, the access to the valves is through the same removable panel below the dinette seat where you can access the hot water heater by-pass valve. My low point drains were completely hidden by the vinyl flooring extending over top of them. After cutting back nearly 2" of the vinyl, I could finally get to them.

New to forum? I purchased a 1989 Excello 34’ but no water on the hot water side in bath or kitchen. Then I found the by pass value in the bathroom under the sink and turned the handle to bypass and got good water pressure in kitchen and bathroom. If I turn the valve back to normal the hot water will not work Any suggestions.

And boy are they hard to turn. Any idea in which direction the valve handle points for on and off?

I can barely reach them on my 30' International. Worse, I don't have enough strength to turn them, as they are at the end of my finger tips. When I winterize I just hope enough of the antifreeze migrates to the low points. If anyone invents a tool, I'm in.

Next time I go to JC, I'm going to ask for advice.

I can reach them but can't budge them...and I really don't want to force them and break it. I'm assuming 90° to the pipe is off and inline is open....but I'm not certain. Share any info you gain at JC.

Looking at the handle, CCW to open CW to close. These are a common hardware store item. After you get them opening and closing a little dab of grease or anti-sieze on the threads will help and maybe write on the pan CCW-OPEN.

Thx Gary, you're right and thx for reminding me of the open/close convention. Your pix are not of the interior valves near the water heater which are plastic, but the convention still holds.

Funny this came up, I guess it's kinda that time of year. We lived in our Limited for 8 years and I never could find the low point valves ( of course, I never needed them either) Last year we moved into a park model and the Airstream now lives in the mountians..... Still no luck locating the low point.
I ended up putting together some brass fittings to use CO2 pressure to blow out the lines for winterization.

Gary, My 08 limited had that type of low point drains. Worked great. Why they went to the type that, for me, are unusable, I can't imagine.
