Leaking Fresh Water Tank
I have a 77 Argosy. The fresh water tank is at the front of the trailer under the sofa. I have notice that when I fill the tank all the water drains out the city water connection at the rear. Is there a check valve and where is it located?

There should be a check valve, but no telling if it's still there or has been removed by a P.O. (previous owner) without tracing the lines from front to back. By the sounds of it, you do NOT have a check valve, as it would prevent the scenario your are describing.
A quick-n-easy fix is to put a plug in the city water connection - you should do this anyway to prevent dirt and critters from entering your water system.

On your Argosy, the check valve should be in the streetside rear corner, either inside the streetside closet, or under the bathroom counter, on the floor near the red water drain valves. Which brings to mind a question: Are the red valves all turned off? The water could be coming from there, or backfeeding from one to another, then draining out.

Overlander, what are the red valves? We recently had a leaked fixed under the sink in the rear bath. Before that the fresh water never leaked out of the city water connection. We do have a plug that we screw into the water connection and it has a small hole in the center. That's how we noticed the water leaking. What are the red valves for? Please feel free to call me at 210-860-6006.

If you find it is the tank, I have one from a '73 that may fit. PM if you are looking for a replacement?. Good Luck with your repair.

The red valvrs are used when winterizing, and are opened to drain the water lines. If one or both are open, it could cause this problem.

I greatly appreciate all the information. I will go out tomorrow and try to locate the red valve. I will let you know if it is the check valve.

Regarding the drain valves for the water, when are the lines open or closed? Are the valves turned all the way clockwise or counter clockwise????

Regardless of which way I turnd the drain valves the water continues to drip through the city water connection from the fresh water tank.
Which way are are the drain valves turned to open the lines?

clockwise to close
Turn the red valves clockwise to close, counter clockwise to open. I know because I just used mine today.
