LEAK: Fresh Water Fill
Help! We have a leak (stream) coming from the screen which is right next to the Fresh Water Fill tank (passenger side with lock on it). We have never used the tank. So why is there a steady leak.
Help! I called Airstream and they suggested a possible faulty water pump?
What do you ALL think?

Water pump for sure. Bad check valve allowing water to flow backwards into the fresh water tank. Have had that happen on 2 new trailers.

Are you hooked to city water? If so unhook and see if water stops coming out of the vent. If it does it is the check valve

If water is leaking out the fill port, then the tank is definitely full now!

Actually, I have not had the water pump running since I have been hooked up to city water. So, I ran it when I took shower and it stopped leaking. So for now, Thank You all for your responses. If it starts leaking again. I will test your suggestions.

The reason it stopped leaking is because you used some of the water in the tank and it's no longer full. As soon as it fills again the leak will be back. If the check valve fails you don't have to run the pump for water to flow back through it to the fresh water tank when you're hooked up to city water.

Definitely a faulty check valve that's stuck open. Happened to me. The city water pressure is filling your fw tank and it is overflowing through the overflow tube next to your fw tank cap.

Amen to check valve problem.
I have had the freshwater tank out of mine and replaced it. I am more familiar with freshwater tanks than I ever wanted to be.
You are getting water bypassing back into the tank when you hook up to city water. It overfills the tank and it comes out the tanks overfill/vent which is port with the screen over it inside the potable water access door.

Any concerns if left this way so the tank could be filled in the future via the city line? Maybe an additional shutoff valve for times when hooked to city water to prevent fresh tank fill up.

I added a ball valve between my freshwater tank and water pump just to keep it from happening again. It means if/when I want to use my fw tank I just need to open the ball valve.
