Interstate Water Pump

Hi, new member here. we have a 2011 Interstate. The fresh water pump went out after 2200 miles. I believe the fresh water tank needs to be drained in order to replace the pump...Does anyone know how to drain the fresh water tank so that the pump can be replaced? Thanks for the help!

There should be a plastic petcock on the curbside between the axles, loosen the fill cap, it will still take awhile to drain.

I think if you pinch the supply line to the pump you should be able to remove it without draining.

I had to repair the wiring on ours the first time out, just put a towel in there to mop up the little water that comes out.

Have you notified AS?, they sent me a replacement to install after the makeshift repair.

AS is "Airstream". Since your Interstate is new, it might be best to contact the company for warranty work.

If the supply line is flexible you can "pinch" it closed by using a vise grip type of pliers.

When I had to remove mine we were camping, I had to improvise, just folded the line and held it together with a zip-tie.

Sorry about the acronym.....

AS= Airstream=JC=Jackson Center
SOB= some other brand
TV= tow vehicle
curbside=right side of trailer
streetside= left side of trailer
WD= weight distributing hitch
WD bars=hitch bars that are tensioned to transfer tongue weight.
receiver= TV portion of your hitch
stinger= removable portion of the hitch that fits over the tongue ball.

Well you get the idea...you'll get the hang of it.

You are talking about the class B coach, correct? The older ones had a couple of valves just inside the right rear door. One of those was a drain valve, but I cannot remember if it drained the whole tank or just the lines. There were also valves on the other side. jim
