How to fill water tank?

I am new to my 22FB and trying to de-winterize. I can't seem to fill the water tank. Closed two drain valves under bed and two drain valves undter wardrobe. Opened faucet, hooked up water hose, turned on pump. Water heater seems to fill up, but not water tank (nothing coming out the drain valve if opened). Any help? Thanks.

You cannot fill the water tank from the hose hook-up. You have to run the hose to the tank fill behind the little plastic door on the curb side.

If you "hooked up" your water hose, you're using the municipal water inlet, which bypasses the water tank. There's a separate tank fill nearby, that is larger than the hose so that air comes out the filler as water is going in. You can't "hook up" to it, you just stick the water hose in like you're filling a fuel tank at a gas pump.

Another pet-peeve...Why hasn't AS installed as standard, a 'tank fill' valve like the big buck Moho's that allow you to fill from the municipal inlet..???

I guess if one filled this way often, you could make a 'T' fitting (with a ball valve) and a length of hose just long enough to reach the tank fill opening that would attach to the municipal supply hose - of course, it's then another piece of 'stuff' to stow and haul around - downside...

Probably because it costs more. Not only do you need a new valve in the system, but your fresh tank vent has to be larger to make up for the fact that you're not letting air out the filler pipe anymore when water goes in.

That and if they did include a tank fill valve, someone else would come along and ask, "Why did Airstream do a dang fool thing like that? We liked it just the way it was!"
