What should I aim for in gallons in a 16 foot bubble? I had no water tank when I got the trailer. The tank was missing. I thought 14 gallons would be enough. I planed os splitting the tanks with one on each side to balance weight Any ideas if I should go bigger or smaller. I do all sorts of camping long, short, developed, and undeveloped. Any owners out there have some Insight? Thanks
Oh and I have no shower and no internal gray tank. The toilet is self contained and the only water will be used in the sink and cooking.

My 65 Safari had a 30 gal. tank that was shot. It was molded into the space under the front gaucho. I replaced it with an 18 gal. rectangular tank. It was a cost thing (special order 30 gal. molded = $900 vs 18 gal rect. $110). We do have a shower and use the toilet both sparingly. Water is only a problem when we boondock for more than 4 days. We carry extra water in the bed of pick up (4 - 7 gal. plastic containers). In your case with no shower or toilet using the on board water I would think you would be fine. JMO.

In general you want your water supply to be about what your holding tanks will store. So if you have 40 gals of waste water between black and gray water or a combined black and gray water tank then you want your fresh water tank to be 40 gal. Probably around 15-20gal would be good for a small trailer.
Much depends on where the tank is to be located. Our Caravel has a 23 gal tank on the floor beneath the front window. There was a front goucho covering it until I made the goucho into a dinette. There is now a storage space enclosing the tank.
We can go several days boondocking, but carry extra water in the truck.
Thanks all. I want with the 2, 9 gallon Valterra tanks. Way cheaper an easy to configure to my needs. My tank position is in the front of the trailer. One tank each side with the tanks locates in the seat back of the dinette. There is a cross over line that equalizes the water level and a shut off in the middle. Both tanks share a common breather tube that vents to the outside.
