Fresh drain valve won't turn
New owner. First time draining 2018 Sport 16. Found the valve under the dinette seat (thanks to this forum) but cannot get it to turn. Is there a trick? Don't want to try forcing it and breaking it.

You might try a shot of penetratingly oil and then waiting several hours to see if it will penetrate and free up the valve. Or you might just pump your fresh water tank dry into the gray water tank and then drain the tank. You can water your shrubs with the water if you like.

My FW drain valve on my '19 27' Globetrotter was quite difficult to turn either way. Someone on the Forum suggested food grade silicone squirted up in the valve. I did that at the very end of the season. 5 months later the valve moves much easier. That silicone may work on the outside as well as the inside.

I would not use penetrating oil. It might find its way into the water system. As suggested in the second post, use food grade silicone.
Also, the valve only turns 1/4 turn. Try it first one way and then the other.

We will post this again because it has worked so great!!
We have a 2018 19cb. We quickly became frustrated with the black low point drain valves due to both location and poor function.
For several years now we have left the original valves open and installed these push on cpvc valves under the trailer on the 4 low point drain pipes.
Easy to reach. No more lifting mattress or crawling into storage.

I have a 19 ft Tommy Bahama with the same valve setup. I use a pair of pliers on the handle and turn the handle to the left so that it is in line with the pipe. Works easy that way. What I don't like, is the rat's nest of wires that are in the way that I first must move! Can't believe the sloppy wiring in these units. It looks like the total unit is hand wired each time instead of making a good fitting wire harness!

It will turn.
Looking at your picture turn it to the left 1/4 turn.
Once turned a few times it will become easier.

It's As Easy As Pie
Imagine the pointed handle is always at 12 o'clock. The handle is turned 90 degrees to 3 o'clock.
I just had mine in the off position in April to change out the toilet. I went out there just now and it was a SOB to turn.
Valves are meant to be exercised. Regularly.

I guess valves are like people; exercise regularly.

try heating the valve slightly with a hair dryer, then attempt to turn.

They do not turn easily, but they do. Suggest when you have them open save a photo for future reference.
