Exterior Hot & Cold Water & Shower Head Hose Compartment

Anyone else experienced water intrusion into their exterior Hot/Cold Fresh Water Compartment on the side of their Airstream? (note: not referring to the "wet bay" that host the fresh water inlet (pedestal/hose) and black tank flush inlet located behind the gray/black water dump valves.

We've occasionally noted small amounts of water inside the compartment when opening it and suspect it's getting in there and collecting from rain water or condensation running down the outside of our Airstream and getting past the foam gasket AS installs on the backside of the compartment's stainless steel locking door.

We know for absolute certain that our faucet or the hot & cold water connections to it are not leaking as we changed it out awhile back and made certain of positive connections. Now, an only suspect that its the foam gasket on the compartment door not sealing properly and letting water in from the outside.

Curious if others have encountered this and if so, what their solution was?

Model? 2018 Classic M30 RQB. Faucet is a Valterra we purchased off of Amazon and installed it ourselves (to replace the OEM supplied one). We like the quick-disconnect feature and have 2-two 25' spiral hoses along with a quick connecting nozzle which gave us a lot more flexibility in terms of the utility of the exterior hot/cold water.

Exterior Hot & Cold Compartment

I have 2019 33' Classic it to filled with water - I removed original foam liner from my stainless box for a while so it could drain. I finally found some different height foam and resealed but haven't had a chance to see if it is still leaking yet. Had to work on box too since where the screws were -didn't help in sealing as well. Like your setup too-it is on my list to do down the road.

Have you ruled out the water connections from inside the trailer?

I have had the hot water side drip leak twice on mine, just from jarring from getting pulled around.

Obviously mine only leaked when hooked up and pressurized ....
