Any reason why these connections would be plumbed this way coming in from the city water? The height of the 2 90* turns are slightly different so maybe they used some flex piping to compensate and never got back to correcting it.
Would you believe that was a professional job? I find the RV center’s stickers everywhere. All the remaining plumbing appears to be some type of pvc. These appears to be the remnants of the original factory plumbing that was “modified”.
I’m going to add an interior water filter system here since I have to take it apart to temporarily repair.
I’m planning to replace/remove this section altogether. Is the circled piping some type of pressure release?
I’m planning to install an new shurflo water entry which already has a pressure regulator & check valve, so I think I can do away with this altogether.
Looks to me, the spot you circled is where your FW system ties into the rest of the water system. As for the "fix" I agree it looks as if someone took out the pressure regulator for the city side and did a very lousy job doing it. Now dealing with a leak at the grey coupler, you can either see if you can tighten it to stop leaking or just replace it with a new one. Should be able to find that coupler at just about any hardware store in the plumbing department.
The brass coupling on the left was a pressure regulator. The red circled pipe was a pressure relief value. I’m removing the whole section and installing a new Shurflo water entry that has both a pressure regulator (65 psi) and a check valve. The city water bib is currently on the bumper...not convenient at all. The shurflo will be located near about 6-8” above the bumper. I’m going to redo the lines with pex.
