City Water Inlet Upgrade-Seeking Advice

I'd like to upgrade the City Water Connection on my 68 Caravel.

I've purchased a new stainless inlet from Vintage Trailer Supply. It looked like a pretty straight forward install. However I'm stuck on trying to remove the old fitting. Unlike the new fitting that screws on and off using a hex driver, the original appears to contain a pressure regulator which make it unclear how to remove the fitting.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions on how to remove the old fitting?

Your old fitting has a check valve built in. It probably has threads that screw on to a male fitting on the end of the water line.
You will need a check valve or shut off valve or cap to prevent water from flowing out when you run the pump.

The cap on the new fitting seems very positive and probably well sealing enough to check the flow when pump is on.

My challenge is getting enough purchase on the current fitting to unscrew it from the internal water supply pipe. There is no interior access.
