City Water Connection
A leak has started at the outside city water connection. It is not the hose as I have tried 2 different hoses. The leak is behind the knob which tightens the connection. The leak is outside the trailer and no leakage inside.
Sounds like a washer problem to me. Haven't taken off the outside attachment cover yet since I do not know what purpose it would serve. I'm wondering if I need to replace the whole unit and if so, is there enough slack to disconnect the water line connection inside the wall?

I'm having the exact same problem. Any help or illustrations on how to fix this would be appreciated. Like the previous poster said, the leak is just behind the sprocket-shaped knob that is used to tighten the connection to the hose. In my case it started off as just a dribble, but after a sub-freezing night when I forgot to disconnect my city water hose, it began leaking to strongly as to make it unusable. Thanks in advance to any who can describe how to fix this.

If it looks like this, you might just want to replace everything. Cost about $30. Unscrew water supply from inside. Remove the 4 screws outside, then slip the new one in. I did a test with an end cap just to make sure the new one did not leak. They sometimes do that. Use a good sealer like Vulkem.
Hope this helps,
Joe

Sounds as though your problem could be more than just a washer but, for what it may be worth, something I recently found out about hose washers - maybe I'm the last to know (!) - is that you can now get silicon rubber hose end washers.
They are a bit more expensive than the plastic ones - but still cheap - mine cost something like $3 for 10 or so.
They are bright yellow colour and so easily noticed if they drop out of the connector, but the real big plus that I find is that being silicon rubber they are quite soft and form well to the mating surfaces and I imagine they won't tend to harden and lose effectiveness the way that rubber or plastic ones do. They don't seem to need much tightening other to achieve a good drip free connection.
I've converted all our garden hoses, sprinklers, etc to them as well as the trailer.
Brian.

I have ordered a replacement and should arrive tommorrow. The unit is a ShurFlow part #183-020-14 and cost $43.00. I've been told by Airstream the hardest part will be breaking the outside part from the body of the trailer.
All the feedback is greatly appreciated.

city water intake replacement
Where did you find the part you mentioned-ShurFlow part #183-020-14.
We hit our fence and damaged the fresh water intake on our 2008 Safari SS SE, and I think it may be the same part.

ShurFlowhas a unique washer that they use. A standard hose washer will not solve the problem.
