Bypass pressure Valve?

My hose attache's to the pressure valve(?) The fitting that the hose attaches to broke off. Can I take the pressure valve off and run the hose to the pipe?

You mean the city water inlet, this.

If it still works as an anti-back flow valve (doesn't have water coming out while using the pump) the easiest thing would be fill the tank and use the pump. Otherwise just get a new one (should be available at most RV dealers and supply places) and replace it.

Would help to know year and model of trailer to know if it has that inlet.

If you have to replace the whole thing Airkrafters now makes one in stainless steel, not cheap but all their stuff is great.

Thank you so much Wazbro! I think you gave me what I needed. My rv is a 66 holiday rambler, do you think the inlet you sent a link to will fit it or am I going to have to get one for my rv specific? I'm a pretty handy girl but this is out of my scope.

I'm hoping Wazbo fix will work, it's only 50 bucks! But if not I'll check them out for sure!

I just look at the inlet and I have a metal pipe at 3/4 to one inch that thr old pressure valve attaches to. The inlet in the link is a tiny plastic thingy... any suggestions?

Unfortunately an older trailer would have a different setup then that, Airstream didn't start using those until the 90s', most others probably started around the same time. This why info about the trailer helps.

Some pictures might give someone a better idea of what you need for repairs.

Post a picture of the item that you are having trouble with. A trailer that is almost 60 years old can have several modifications by previous owners, and most of us on this site are familiar with Airstream/Argosy systems. We are more than willing to help, but "thingy" is not a description of an item that I am familiar with. A picture is worth a thousand words! Are we talking water or propane?
