I have removed all of the plumbing from the Overlander. The water tank will go in its original place under the forward sofa. The water heater is mounted on the starboard side. There will a cold water line running around the perimeter of the coach to get water from the fresh water tank to the water heater so I can make the entry into the system at any point. I need to have enough space for a pressure reduction valve and a backflow preventation valve... but that's not much. There is a the old battery access panel on the port side and the pain-in-the-rear rear access panel. Since nothing is framed in, I can design access. I just wondered if people had any particular things I should keep in mind.
You could do that almost anywhere that it's convenient to run the fittings and connect it in to the system. It doesn't have to be by the water tank since it bypasses the tank, anyway. It just needs to have a convenient spot to connect in to your cold water line after the pump.
If you want to refill your water tank from the shore water hose, put a valve and bypass around the water pump. Not required but sometimes nice to have.
Make provisions to blow out the pressure regulator for winterizing. I like putting a low point drain in the general area of the regulator and backflow preventor. They don't need to be nearby, I just find it easier if all in the same place.
