Alright... new issue...

Did a search, couldn’t find anything.

At a full hookup sight. Hooked up as normal. Had an empty fresh water tank because I knew we were going to be on city water.

Wife commented that tank was full. Didn’t think anything of it. When I went outside to drain tanks there was water coming out from the fresh water fill port and from what I believe is the tank directly.

I turned off the city water and am on pump now. Everything seems to be working but I think I am hearing water draining into the tank now or running through pipes. Don’t ever recall hearing this before, could I have a busted pipe somewhere that is causing both issues?

Never had the city water fill my fresh tank before, thoughts?

Somewhat of a common problem.

Here’s an old thread that has links to other threads where this has been discussed before. Could be a pump/check valve problem. See if any of this helps and good luck!

Pump check valve is leaking allowing water to flow back into the tank.

Thanks. I turned off city water and am running off pump. Hope that clears any debris keeping valve open. Pump is loud like reported in other threads, but once I run this water down I’ll turn the city water on again and will see if fresh tank fills again.

Already planning a trip to Jackson center in spring time. Adding this to the list. Hope no other issues with our water system exists... I feel like I am hyper sensitive to water dripping and draining sounds now because I feel like something is broken 🥴

I installed a new Shurflo 4008 Revolution pump in my trailer last year. Recently I discovered the same issue. I purchased the check valve replacement kit, about $14 to $17. Seemed to have fixed the issue after one day of testing. I believe the same pump is used in newer Airstreams.

When I disassembled the check valve I didn't see anything that would of caused the issue; no debris or hard water deposits. Easy to replace and worth a try before buying a new pump.

. . .
Did you use the new search function in the blue box above? It works great.

The old search function in the blue menu bar never worked well IMO.

“Water fill overflow” — https://www.google.com/search?q=Wate...=airforums.com

Your plan in Post #4 should do the trick IMO. Do you use an inline water filter in the hose for both filling the tank and city water?

https://www.amazon.com/Camco-TastePU.../dp/B0006IX87S

Using this religiously should prevent a reoccurrence.

Yes, I have a water filter. I don’t use for filling fresh tank but will now. Have traditionally used only for city water connection but I guess if I am filling fresh before disconnecting from sit then it is filling with filter. Only a couple times have I filled fresh randomly and not used filter.

Been on road for 8 months. Airstream still under warranty. Pump should be covered.

Hi BigSxyWhtGuy,

We know you already have an appointment at Jackson Center, but if there is anything that we can assist with now, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you.
