2018 Classic 33 - Where’s the water filter?
Our prior Airstream used to have a water filter under the galley sink. I can’t seem to find it on the new 2018 Classic 33! Can anyone help?

pretty sure they eliminated the water filter on the Classic, we did not have one on our 2015 and do not have one on our 2018. We put a filter outside on water hose coming in.

We have one on our 2017 Classic. It is not installed at the factory. Dealer installed during pre-delivery, at least in our case.

2018 models do not come factory-equipped with a water filter.

Yep, picked up our 30’ 2018 Classic last week and asked the same question.
Answer: no water filtration in 2018 Classics.
We use a two stage filter system outside the trailer now.

So I’m not a moron...
Good to know! Now, I’m curious to see what others are doing to remedy this... Is it sufficient to use the high-flow blue Camco water filters when filling the water tank or using city water?
What additional solutions are others using?

That depends on the water source. In the campground I'm at now the high-flow blue Camco water filter is plenty. A couple of campgrounds I stayed at in Florida I went with bottled water. Another option is to add an inline filter for a fridge to a separate faucet.

We use a Brita pitcher for drinking water.

Nothing beats drinking straight from the hose on a hot summer day. You know the type, green vinyl garden hose.

Agreed! But in mid-summer, I’m partial to the black super-flexible hoses... You get a good refreshing sip of hot water with just a hint of rubber!

That’s a great idea... I’ll definitely look into getting one of these. It would really be nice for the coffee maker too!

Best thing for the coffee maker is an actual purifier like the Zerowater pitcher. Removing the minerals makes for a better extraction, and protects the appliance from scale (if the one you use has a heating element). Coffee shops typically use an RO system for this, but a deionizer like Zerowater is often more practical for RV use since it doesn't waste water.

We boil the filtered water in our 2014 Classic and pour it over the coffee in a paper Mikita filter on top of their thermos insulated pot. There was even a basic in-line water filter in our 2015 23D International Serenity that listed for $70,000.
Guess the extra $50 for a cartridge filter system would cut into the profit margin too much on a $145,000 Classic but was standard in a 2014 Classic that listed for 97,500.

Thank you! Coffee is important to me, and while I’m not a snob, I’ve had an awful lot of really bad coffee over the years. Life is too short to drink bad coffee!

I’ll echo the comments about the lack of water filter on my 2018 Classic 33 FB. I use a two-stage water filter externally for the city water hookup as well as filling my fresh water tank. Inside I use a Zero Water pitcher for drinking and cooking. Zero Water is FAR superior to Brita or Püre water filter pitchers.
