Zip Dee Relax Awning Problem

Good morning all,
I have a problem with the awning on my 2017 25FB closing properly. When the awning gets to within 8-12 inches of full closure it stops. I have to open it a few inches then close again, it then closes normally. Has anyone else experienced this issue? BTW, when I took it back to the dealer for this problem, the awning performed flawlessly!!

Thanks in advance .....

I've had mine do that once. It's run fine all the rest of the time.

I was told by a GM at Airstream Adventures Nothtwest that you need maximum power (voltage) when you are opening or closing the auto awning. Make sure spouse is not running airconditioner, microwave, electric heater or another strong voltage pull appliance when you use the awning.

Mine does that too. I have a full lithium power system and always have a very healthy 13.2 - 13.5 volts supplied to the awning - so it is not a low power issue.

I believe the sensors get confused as to where they are in the process and send a signal to early to cut power when they think they the awning is fully closed.

As you've noted opening a bit then closing back again does the job / resets the sensors.

Same problem occasionally

We have the Relax power awning as well. We use it often, and have twice experienced the partial closure. Opened it slightly then resumed action to full closed position.

I also have a sense this is related to power. I have had this happen on a couple of occasions when retracting the awning while on battery power, even though our batteries are fully charged. I have yet to ever have this happen when we are plugged in.

It has happened to us since the trailer was new almost 2 years ago. Weíre going back to the factory next month for two year warranty visit. Itís on my list so Iíll let everyone know how they deal with it. I suspect itís a sensor adjustment. Other than that quirk it works fine.
