Zip Dee rafters
In 2007 we renovated a 29' 1976 International. The one engineering problem I have not been able to solve is how the front and rear rafters are held in place when the awning is rolled up. The lobster claw is open and there is nothing more than a small ridge on the step spacer that is supposed to keep it in place.
10 years ago I mounted hardware that I can use to run a Velcro strap through to hold the rafter in place. But last week the front rafter fell off and the lobster claw broke in half. I am surprised that Zip Dee has not issued a warning or provided a device that will secure the rafters so that they do not fall off while traveling. What can we do to make sure that the rafters do not fall off of the step spacer?
