Zip Dee mounting rail to rear cap

Just wondering if anyone has seen this issue before. I searched the threads and did not see another post. My rear awning is coming detached from the rear of the trailer. It looks as if the rail is straight and the cap bends around and either it was stuck there with double sided tape and come lose or this is the way it is?

The rear window awning rail was not installed correctly.

Add a couple or so of olympic rivets at each end and it will be fine.

Oh man.. Thats what we thought. Drill into the exterior .. yikes.

before i do that, could it be the wrong awning for the trailer? could there be a shorter mounting strip?

The correct rear window awning is called an 047, meaning 47 inches wide.

What a surprise I came in to look into rear awnings and the first thing I see is about rear awnings it is just to cool. I am getting ready to put on the new Zip Dee and looking at it I think I have to move the rear lights up a little to make a little more room. Has anyone put one on a 1970 31' airstream? I should have looked a little better at the rallys. And by the way mine came from Zee Dee with olympic rivets and they say to use them just like Andy said. Dave

The rear clearance lights, are ok where they are.

It will be a little tight, but you don't need to move them.
