Hi - i think I extended the main awning arm too far (beyond the 3 spots) and is stuck now, won't more forward nor backwards. Does anyone know a way to remove the inner bar from the main arming arm? Thanks much!
since it's aluminum on aluminum, it's not real slippery, might try some dry lube in the main awning arm.
I'm assuming with a 23' it's a manual. You can remove the small bolt 3/16" from the bottom hinge plate, WHILE HOLDING THE ARM FIRMLY because there's some spring tension. Then without the load it should slide off. Give it a spray of T-9? dare I say silicone?
My awning seems to be stuck also. We can only pull it out about 2 feet at most. We have not pulled it out in months. My trailer is a 1999 Excella 28'. The fabric has been replaced a few years ago. It does have the lock on it which I understand they do not use anymore. Any tips on that one?
Ja, tend to agree with Mollysdad. Get some lube in there (I like Silicone with a straw nozzle) and shoot it into the arm.
By the way there always used to be 4 adjustment holes on my awning arms, maybe things have changed. But if you are in between 4 and 3, then there should be a way to at least wiggle on the arm + lube should free it up. I'd get another person to help hold the awning while you work on the arms, though.

Thanks All - yes, it's a manual. I have taken the arms off and it is solidly stuck way after the three adjustment holes, I have tried everything, not moving even a mm. I gave up and ordered new arms from Zip-Dee yesterday.
The locking pin might be stuck, or maybe a piece broke off inside. We just replaced our center rafter due to a problem similar to this - the pin malfunctioned and wouldn't let the rafter go in or out. Luckily I was able to work out the locking stud so we could close things up.
