Zip Dee Awning rivets

I need some rivets to attach the awning fabric to the roller. I've looked at Home Depot and Lowe's. The 1/8" size they have does not have as big a head as the ones currently on the roller. Anyone know where to get these?

Ben,
Look for a fastener specialty store like Fastenal or look in the yellow pages under construction fasteners. Every major town I have been in has a place that stocks only fasteners.

Smile Zip dee rivets

Ben,

I think this will be an easy solution. On two occasions I have performed the same type of repair, one on a patio zip-dee and once on the smaller window awning. In both cases I used an aluminum washer that fits on the rivet and makes the head bigger. The washers are usually stocked right near the rivets and made by the same company. My repairs have lasted 3 and 5 years and no sign of any problem.

Large head pop rivets

These rivets are commonly used for fiberglass and are sometimes called snowmobile rivets. They are about three times the price of regular rivets.
