Temporary disconnection of awning from S/O

I need to make a repair to the top section of the compression seal that goes around the front, top and rear of my slide, but to access it, I would like to extend the slide and not have the awning extend with the slide. This covers up the work area.

Any methods to disconnect the awning from the slide w/o a major mess?

Thanks,

Gary

This worked for me.

With slide retracted, one side at a time remove the acorn nuts and bolts that are the pivot point for the arms. Carefully let the arm rotate up and place is on the roof, repeat for other side. Install, pull arm down, insert bolt, tighten acorn nut, repeat for other side.

I just didn't want to make a boo boo on my first awning experience. Don't think I did.

I needed to extend the slide a few inches w/o the awning to re-secure the compression seal on the slide.
