Stuck awning

We just brought home a 1991 Diamond Anniversary Excella yesterday! But to my dismay I was not able to open the long awning on the curb side. All other awnings pull out smoothly, but the big one won't budge. All travel locks are disengaged so I can't figure out what's going on. I'll contact Zip Dee if I can't find help here. By the way, this trailer's been sitting unused for two years.

there is a round knob like thing at each end that screw the awning down to the roof. I'm guessing you have disengaged these.

also there may be another lock on the roll up section that holds the cloth. it is located on my 32 at the front edge of the roller. it has a hole in it and looks like a cam sort of thing. pull this out away from the roller .it's a travel safety thing to keep the awning from unrolling if you forget to use the other 2 screw dohickeys. then pull the awning out. DONOT push this lock in until you roll up the awning. good luck

Check out the instruction manuals from the Zip Dee website. Look at both manuals to identify all the parts your awning may be equipped with... as mine has a lock that is only shown on one of the manuals (added part that was optional at the time).

How To Operate Your Awning

Thanks for the help. The front awning ( I found after staring at it forever) has a different kind of smaller travel lock that looks like a little arm resting just above the screw lock on the far right side. I was able to open the awning but not without more trouble that can be fixed with some lube.
