Snap stud assembly Zip Dee awning

Hi all,
The outer knob of the snap stud assembly pulled off the pin, then the pin (spring loaded) went inside of the assembly. The assembly is shaped like a nut, but putting a wrench on it there is a lot of resistance, so I am not sure if it unscrews or not. Part number from Zip Dee is Y 290002
Anyone ever have to pull that out and replace it?

Thanks!

The Woodlands site has a pic. It appears to be threaded.

Thanks No Noize! That gave me the courage to unscrew it! A couple of pictures in case anyone else comes across this issue.

Notice that the nut is screwed into the aluminum arm, which tears up a bit with removal, thus the aluminum in the threads.

Thank you for the follow-up and the pictures. I am sure we will all be faced with that sooner or later

If the threaded hole is striped drill a larger hole and insert a heli coil to make new threads. Hust match the threads to the coil.

I've had mine out and yes they screw in to the arm. The ones on the tension bars have a small pin in the round knob that keeps it from rotating so the plunger will be orientated to lock into the notches of the arm to keep the awning tight.

Mine did the same thing last year. It screws out and the new one screws back in.

Call Zip Dee directly to get the replacement. They are supper nice people, work hard to help everyone out, and will get you the part quickly where ever you are.
