Someone is me. Yeah they give you something to get a good grip on, but the fact of the matter is since I learned to deploy the awning the right way I hardly ever use em.

I certainly agree with not worrying about everything, but you do have to be somewhat prepared for the unexpected. I would visit an AS dealership and try one out on an actual AS, both with power and without. This to see if you could handle it in both modes. I know trying to use a non-functioning power jack is more difficult than an originally powered one... Good luck and safe travels!!
