Removing awning carefree

i see how to unscrew the poles from the banana wrap and i see how it will slide out of the track up top. my question is do i need to do somethign so the awning will not roll around when i pull it all the way out?

There will be tension on the roll because of the loading of the spring(s) inside of the roll. You must remove that tension before you start the removal process. Failure to do so can cause damage to your Airstream and to you.

I have done this with my ZipDee, but I have no experience with a carefree awning. Hopefully someone who has done this will explain the procedure.
