Remove Pine Sap from Zip Dee

I've been under some pine trees and got some pine sap droppings on my awning. It sticks to itself when unrolling.

Zip Dee says to only use NON-detergent soap (Ivory Liquid?) to keep from removing the water-repellancy. I'm sure to spot remove the sap will definitely remove waterproofing!

What removes pine sap best?

Remove Pine Sap from Zip Dee

Greetings Steve!

I always keep a supply of ZipDee's own cleaning compound on-hand for the awning on my Overlander. So far, it has removed anything that has been deposited on the awnings. You can learn about the ZipDee cleaning products at:

ZiipDee Awning Cleaning Products

Good luck with your cleaning project!

Well, I called Zip Dee and they referred me to for the cleaning directions.

Go here click on RV and then scroll to 'clean' and they have a Word doc or PDF file that you can put in your A/S book on various stains to get out of the acrylic fabric.

They did recommend turpentine followed by Ivory soap wash.
