Rear window awning lower brackets loose

After looking through 1241 post of 1241, I could not find any discussion concerning the lower mounting brackets of the rear window awning.

The AS in question is our 1994 30 ft Excella. We have owned this AS over 18 years. It has always been in enclosed storage, both by us and the previous owners. The awnings are all in excellent and completely serviceable condition.

The brackets that hold the bottom ends of the arms on the rear window awning are loose and no longer sealed to the AS. The brackets with rivets are still in tac and function but have a considerable gap between the bracket and AS. Visual inspection does not show how or to what the brackets are attached.

What do I need to reattach these brackets and what is the process for accomplishing this this task.

Thank you in advance for the assistance of this forum.

On my 2018 the arms are riveted to the aluminum skin. Sounds like yours are too. Reattachment should be as simple at replacing the old, loose rivets with new. Maybe I misunderstood the question. If so, a picture or two would help us see what you have and how they might differ.

Rear window awning

Thanks for your reply. I just assumed that the skin alone would not be substantial enough to support the strain on the bracket. That there must be something else to attach to.

I'll try to get a picture posted maybe tomorrow.
