Yes it is not too difficult. You remove the end cap without the spring, cut the tube and fabric and put it back together.
Be very careful removing the awning from the trailer. The Zip Dee site has instructions on how to deal with the spring arm and the proper way to remove the awning.
With the awning off measure everything very carefully to determine the amount of tube to cut off. The wife took a portable sewing machine outside to cut and re-hem the fabric. She had to do a little hand stitching to finish around the tube. Rivet the end cap back on the tube and install the awning on the new trailer.
