Need Zip Dee Info

Before I put up the inner skins I would like to put in backing plates for an awning. What I need to know is if I install the bottom brackets for a Zip Dee can I order an awning of the correct width? Can you order them to the inch in width, or do I need to put them in to a specific width?

When I ordered mine (from Inland RV), the size was determined by the size and model of the trailer. The lower support arm brackets then lined up with the vertical ribs of the trailer.

Gary,

Whether it's a patio awning or street-side window awning, the brackets that hold the awning's arms fasten to the last vertical rib before the front/rear curved caps. The dimension from rivet-to-rivet usually dictates the awning's length. They can be had in any length you desire, but these are the standard dimensions and procedures that have been used for a long time for Zip-Dee awnings.

On patio awnings, the travel locks at the front/rear are also fastened to the same vertical ribs, making for an easier installation.

Does your Arg have an existing awning rail at the roof line running the length of the trailer? If not, you will need to order one of those as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Gary and Janet.

All you need to provide is the trailer serial number and the color of the fabric number.

No measurements are necessary, unless you want something super special.

Backer plates are not necessary, since the arms are mounted into the front and rear main bows.
