Manual Awning on a 30 footer

Anybody have pictures, or better yet, a video demonstrating deployment of a manual awning on a 30 footer?

Plus, has your experience with this longer manual awning been a good one?

Thanks,

No pictures or video, but it should be no different than on a shorter unit. It is very straight forward...

- Unlatch hook on rear end of aluminum awning cover (using awning pole)
- Unscrew clamp on each end with pole, flip to side
- Pull awning out using pole hooked on deployment strap
- Move two tension poles to hook on main roller spindles and extend until click into position on each end
- Install middle support into hole in main tube (should be in stowed position in tab)
- Raise awning to desired height so door can be opened

Thin is from memory, so I may have missed a step. It is a little cumbersome, but not bad once you have done it a time or two.

Hey thanks, I was curious how that center arm attaches, and what do you do with that center arm when you want to drop an end for rainwater diversion.

Be careful with the center arm, if it detaches and you are not holding it, it will swing down and put a big ding in the trailer skin.

Second on the ding. Had it happen on the second week of ownership. Luckily not to bad.

The center arm does not impede the lowering of the front or back to remove water or tilt. The center arm can lower all the way with both back and front lowered.

The only thing I could offer would be the center rafter. Put the rafter in place and spring latch it before raising the awning.

Check YouTube for videos. I can share that our thirty-foot trailer and its manual awning are about the same effort and attention as our earlier twenty-five foot trailer. My recommendations are to 1) remember to release the center brace before stowing the awning; 2) go slowly in opening and closing and 3) be more inclined to put it away if wind or weather threaten. It is a bigger sail.

Your right.
There is little to no information on the center arm.
I have never seen a video and just had to figure it out.
