Main Awning Question

Awning. Do you leave it out or bring it in if you are going to be away from trailer for the day? They seem sturdy and built well to me but my wife insist I bring it in if we are away for extended periods.

We had a friend with a awning (not Airstream) that when it rained during the day while they were gone it caught water. When he released one side to dump water it collapsed and ripped it off the trailer.

Also, have had automatic awnings on other brands with wind sensors that bring them in if wind starts blowing. She remembers that feature which Airstreams don't have so requires me to bring ours in when we leave just in case.

I do leave one side tilted so water doesn't collect even if we are at trailer. Just wondering what you guys do. Every Airstream we have had I have had much practice taking out and bringing in the awning.
