How do you wash and or clean your Z/D awning?

I opened my awning and noticed dirt build up and tried to wash it. If you've tried to wash a fabric awning you know it's not easy. What kind of soap or cleaner can be used? Rags or scrub brush? I used a mild detergent and a soft nylon scrub brush. Labor intensive and time consuming. What kind of ideas might you have?

Zip dee has info about this on their website. Water and a brushing are the first thing to try. You have to be careful with soap or it will remove the water repellancy. They describe what to do if more is needed...check it out.
