Help with installing new claw arm

I accidentally broke a stuck claw on one of the support arms, ordered a new one, seems easy enough to install but we can't get the old one completely removed. Right above the spring there is a little pin, it doesn't have a head on it, and we can't see any way to remove it but it's apparent that it is the only thing holding us back. Any suggestions? I've looked through the owners manual but either I missed something or they didn't get that specific about this particular part.

If you're talking about the 'claw' on your Zip Dee Awning...

Look here:

Awnings By ZipDee

If you're referring to item # '6E' - guide pin...

You'll have to get a 'punch' that's the same size as the pin and carefully drive it out - with the arm removed from the trailer, you can then lay it on a wood block to drive out the pin - be careful, there will probably be some spring tension that's released as the pin comes out...

...And Zip Dee should have included a new pin when they shipped you the claw; be sure to check the packaging carefully. It would be easy to overlook if you are not looking for it.
