we had to wind up the tension manually to get the awing back in as the #2 part on the rear of the trailer is the one that snapped, so had to wind up the broken part to get the awning back in. I am not sure why that is the case, since it is up and I can replace it without taking it down, but in the owners manual it tells how to adjust the tension, which mine might need since I have no idea if it is good or not, just got it back against the trailer in the rain to get it home, lol. The pole is duct taped to the other pole, lol. It does not look too bad, but I am sure the dealer might not charge much to switch them out if you are not comfortable with it.
