Awning repair or replace?

We have a 1973 Safari that is mostly original. The awning is a Dometic and is generally usable but in pretty rough shape. I think that the fabric is a fairly easy fix.... however I don't know what to do about the arms. Are these curved arms replaceable? Do we need to try and have the existing arms rebuilt? I am not sure what to do or who to trust.

Would love some advice. We have had our baby for a couple of years now but haven't done anything to the exterior. We are still very much novices.

Thanks in advance.

I am also pondering the same question. I have a 67 trade wins with original awning hardware. It still works, but is an excercise in frustration and coordination to extend or retract. Not to mention a mild but constant safety concern every time I get on the highway. Has anyone here documented rebuilding and restoring original awning hardware? Or, is the best choice simply to replace it with a new system?

Not quite what your asking for but I just priced new fabric from Zip Dee to replace our worn and weathered Excella awning and was quoted $48 a linear foot ready to install. $768 for the 16' awning in Baycrest Pacific, some less common colors are more.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
