Awning Problems

Hi i went to open big awning in front, it opened ok ,followed vid to show me since my first time doing so the lower brackets with the claw type hook both bent at hook splitting where they fasten when i tryed to close it yes i unhooked them and put them back in retaining pins on arms or was that my mistake, should i have left them loose, also holding pin bent . when i retracted awning it wont line up to attach wheels. should i try to replace hooks myself and realign or should i take it to dealer.

Zipdee has revised the way the arms work over the years. If your '92 is like my '91, you should not clip the arms in place until after the awning is rolled up.

I have seen an Airstream video in which the lower arms are left clipped in, IMHO, this can put a lot of torque on the arm and in my case bent the lower arms. Now, I unclip before and after deploying the awning.
