Send a message via ICQ to ArlineB
Hi I'm not sure what the poly cord is. but I have care free awnings and I looked at all of them and they have the same size cord that slides in the rail at the top and smaller size that slides in the tube.
Email me and I will ssend you 800 number I have for carefree ...... I have two packs of carefree cords that have 3 or 4 different sizes in it. I guess thats how they send them to you. large one is to put in rail on camper or motorhome and smaller ones are for the awning in the tube and the fringe. But I would call them and find out . Good luck ArlineB gekco@dragonbbs.com

Reviving an old thread here. Having custom awning made for curved carefree awning and need the polycord size for :

Rail (newer ones are supposedly 1/4")
Tube
Valance

Tube and valance may be slightly larger, 3/8"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The vinyl welt size, or marine grade pull cord size, that fits a vintage 3/8" diameter c-channel awning rail is 5/16". When I make vintage trailer, rope and pole awnings, that is the size I use. Maybe this will be helpful.

Thanks Kristi, now I know the rail channel width.

I'll put this back out to the crowd and ask.

Does anyone know the awning tube channel width for the old carefree curved arm style? Or what size polycord or welt is acceptable for the awning or valance that use the tube? I'm not ready to disassemble the awning just yet to find out.

Thanks!!
