When I bought the Globetrotter, it had a white vinyl bag awning hanging on it. Unzip the bag, roll it out, and there you had a rope and pole awning. Pretty handy but really ugly. Thankfully a wind gust ripped it off in August so it was time to get to work. Craigslist found a Consew lockstitch commercial sewing machine and bought zipper, fabric and nylon/rubber welt cord for attaching to the GT. The fabric is Coastguard, which I think is the same that VTS uses for rope/pole awnings. Materials were all available at rochfordsupply.com. A couple of evenings of stitching and now we have a much more attractive awning, and it extends out 9 feet from the trailer, whereas the previous was only 7.5 or so. This was a fun project. Total materials $178.
