is it a zipdee? z-d explains how to clean and maintain the awning fabrics on their website.
as bigAL suggests, water repellants are NOT to be used on the acrylic awning fabrics
the fabric should be cleaned occasionally with mild soap
(no bleach, solvents, citrus cleaners) and water and left to dry.
pollen, dust and organic matter (leaves, pine needles, bugs) on the fabric can eventually stain or feed mold growth.
shaking, hosing with water or cleaning occasionally nix-z that...
IF the fabric is clean but really really dry, rain will sieve through during the first few minutes,
but as the acrylic fibers expand and PLUMP up, the total water repellant nature is restored...
treating the fabric with spray on repellants reduces fiber swelling and is a NEGATIVE.
so, clean, dry, roll'em up, then enjoy as needed!
