Any Advice for Adding Mosquito Netting to a Zip Dee Awning?

My husband and I are planning to add mosquito netting to our Zip Dee awning in preparation for a trip to some pretty heavy mosquito zones this winter. (We, like others, simply can't stomach the sticker shock that comes with purchasing a Zip Dee "Porch"!

Has anyone else added their own mosquito netting solution? If so, any tips -- and photos! -- appreciated!

We'll post photos of the solution we end up with. Thanks much!

Welcome to the forum!

I assume you are talking about this:

I don't see prices, but is the retail cost in the range of $1,000 to $1,300 or so?

Seems steep, but IMO it would be hard to duplicate on one's own, and get all the parts and details right. [edit -- see the thread linked below for only so-so reviews of the Zip Dee tropic room]

Have you considered a free-standing screen room? We had one of those in the 90's and it worked great, however the fine mesh screen does tend to cut way down on air flow.

Sorry no personal experience on the tropic room to fit under the awning.

Good luck,

PS -- FYI -- A recent thread with other threads linked therein:

PS2 -- Here is a recent one listed in the classifieds FYI:

Maybe the same one?

I have the ZD sun room. PITA to put up and take down but very effective and nice design when properly installed. It came with my trailer uninstalled. It was still in the sealed bag from ZD. I do not think I would spend the $$$ for one otherwise.

Do you know what a learning experience is? A learning experience is one of those things that says "You know that thing that you just did? Don't do that."
