AE Handle Problem

I have a '99 Safari with the AE 9000 (I think) awning. I actually like the awning; however, I do not like that both of the handles are broken. I assume they are supposed to be spring loaded so as to release the pin from the hole, but mine are not. It is a bear to push the pin far enough through the hole to release the awning. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Danny, I think I understand what you are talking about. It would seem that you are missing a part or something. A picture would be very helpful. A & E, now Dometic, keeps parts available for their awnings at your local camping retailer.

I can get you replacement parts for your awning....being a Dometic dealer. I need the specific model, serial and product #'s from the awning. There will be 2 sets of #'s: one set on the forward arm (usually on the inside) and another on the fabric at the forward inside edge of the roller tube when the awning is fully extended.

Get the #'s and I'll see what I can do for replacment parts.

PS: Dometic does not sell direct to the customer.

Thanks for the help. I'll get on it ASAP and give you the info, Lewster. Thank you both.
