Adding an awning

Hey all. So this weekend I picked up a parts RV and took a bunch of stuff out of it, including the awning. Most of the appliances are for sale (well I will sell anything out of it) but I figured I would be able to add the awning to my Argosy. The problem is that the awning has straight arms because it came from a Southwind motorhome (box on wheels).

Does anyone know if the aluminum arms can be bent at the top? Or do you know where I might be able to find a set of curved arms with their brackets? I remember that a couple of you tried to help me out in the past but one thing led to another a life got in the way. I'd love to be able to put this on for this camping season.

There has been a set of curved arms for sale on Ebay for a while. You may want to do a quick search.

Is there a certain set that I have to buy? I want to make sure the arms will be the right fit for the curve of my roof.

A couple of thoughts....one, make certain anywhere the arms are mounted is on a reinforced rib under the skin. Second, with care one might be able to bend the arms, but would require a mandrel, and it may require packing the arms with sand to avoid a collapse while bending. The advantage is of course you can make them fit like a dream.

Well I looked at the awning last night and its a Carefree. Hopefully I can find soem parts in the next month otherwise I will try bending the arms myself. At one point I was talking to someone on this site about getting awning parts and I wish I could remember who it was. I believe they had some carefree awning parts that they were getting rid of. Probably gone by now but I will have to go through my history and try to figure out who it was.
